The medicine cat's den is located between the elders' den and the nursery. It is a hollow space between two very large boulders, and while it appears to be no more than a tiny, triangular hole on the outside, it is actually quite roomy, and a hole on top lets in light. The den is, in fact, almost like a miniature cave, and there are many shelf like structures on the boulders. A hollow, bowl-shaped depression on one of these ledges is used for storing water. The entrance of the den is guarded by a thin line of reeds - enough to hide it from view but not so much so as to keep cats from entering easily. The medicine cat's bed is in the back, and there is a layer of moss on the ground which can be hollowed out for ill or injured cats.

The RiverClan warriors den is, like the apprentice den, a hollow dug under a boulder. It is the largest of all the dens in the clan, as well as the least secure. While it is large enough to be roomy and comfortable, there is danger that it may collapse, and the den floods easily. However, no fatalities have yet been caused by collapses and floods. The nests themselves are individual beds of moss that take up the whole den. In fact, it is often difficult for warriors to make their way outside without waking each other up. The warriors den has a very large and wide entrance, giving warriors easy access to the camp as well as an excellent view.

he apprentice den is a hollow dug partially under a large boulder. Mud has been used to form the sides and has hardened into a tough wall. The entrance is open and easy to get through, allowing apprentices to leap out at the slightest call. Individual moss nests line the edges of this den, with an empty space in the middle which the apprentices sometimes use for socializing. Apprentices can lay at the edge of their den and watch the world go by, for the way it is built gives them an excellent view of the camp and the sky.

The RiverClan elders' den is a hollow in the center of a thick tangle of reeds. All retired warriors sleep here. It is secure, half hidden in the wall of reeds that surrounds the camp. It has been dug into the ground and lined with a thick layer of moss. Elders generally make hollows in the moss for sleeping. The fresh kill pile is easily accessible, just a few feet from the entrance, and the den is adjacent to the medicine cat's den. While the reeds do not provide as good insulation as the mud and rock of the warrior and apprentice dens, they also do not hold the threat of collapsing. During heavy storms, the cats of the clan will often add extra leaves and reeds to the top of the den to provide more shelter.
