Chyme kicked back some dirt over the finished vole. She looked around at all of the empty farms. The sun was setting behind the trees that went past them. Looking back, she knew that she wouldn't be able to see much on the other side of highstones. The sun highlighted the mound of rocks so that instead of their usual black, they were a dusty gray. Her yellow orange eyes, nearly matched the color of the sun at this hour. Giving a last farewell ray of sunlight, the sun slipped behind the trees. Chyme had missed her opportunity to make it to highstones, into the caves. It was a judgement call on the new moon anyway, she wouldn't want to run into any medicine cats. Disturbing their night with Starclan was the last thing that she wanted to do. Quickly, adjusting her eyes to the poor lighting, she slipped under a bush, and hoped that a horse wouldn't come along and mistake her for part of the bush and try to eat her fur, or come alone and step on her.

Light bounded lazily across the grassy ground. He fluffed up and hissed at the horses, and darted around their clumsy heavy paws, greatly enjoying the excitement of the act. The small-looking tom cat skidded to a halt when he caught the scent of another cat near by. He tilted his head to one side, tail shooting up in the air instantly and ears drifting lazily forward he stalked over to the bush where the smell of the other cat was strongest and pounced strait into the middle of it. "Boo!" He meowed, batting playfully at the hiding she-cats long tail.

Caught off guard by the attacker, Chyme pounced in the air ready for a fight. This was obviously not a heavy weighing horse, so she dared to challenge. Only to find it was another cat from outside the clans, who was obviously looking for a play-mate. Chyme scowled at the yellow-eyed tom. He had woken her from a good nap that she had only just begun.

Light bounced around her, black ridged tabby tail waving. The yellow-eyed loner batted at the she-cats ears before darting away. He tilted his head to one side and plopped down on his haunches. "So who are you?" He asked, pretending nothing had happened.

The sudden change in activity confused Chyme for a moment. She looked at the cat like he was crazy. She circled him, examining, every hair on his pelt. Finishing her circle, she sat in front of him. She settled and gave a dazed look, speaking absently, "I am Chyme, searcher of stars." looking up at the sky, she viewed those of Silverpelt. She only wished that she could see the starry warriors. Although, the life of the clan was not for her. She was a mere religious cat, looking for something to hold onto after death. The twinkling stars above, teased her eyes. She couldn't imagine the endless possibilities of what lay ahead. She redirected her attention to the odd cat before her, "And, who are you?" she inquired in an impatient tone.

"I'm Lighting." He said as he drew his tail around his paws and daintily licked a forepaw. Awful dazed thing, isn't she? The thought couldn't help but run through his mind as examined her with one yellow eye. He finished licking his paw and set it back on the ground. "So, what brings you to this place?" He said, copying her absent look and stared up at the stars.

A sigh of confirmation was all Chyme gave, acknowledging the cats name. Once more, she looked to the twinkling stars, "Silverpelt. StarClan. Do you know much about them?" a flickered stare was put on Lightning. Her fur was beginning to puff up as a shiver ran through her body. "The clans sacred home for StarClan is just there," she flicked her tail toward the jagged rocks covering the moonstone, "it's called Highstones. The cave is Mothermouth. The medicine cats of the clans will meet there any day now." The young loner should know at least a slight bit about the clans. He was prowling rather close to their territory not to have a single clue.

Light nodded his head, soft-furred ears flopping slightly. "Yeah, I used to be a clan cat you know." His yellow eyes followed the stars until they touched the horizon, where he could barely see the thick forests of Thunderclan territory, his former home. A sigh shook the usually cheerful tom's flanks, Ah well, they were jerks anyway. He curled up and sat his head neatly on his paws, his gaze still fixed on Chime. "That is coming up, isn't it?" He said distantly, not glancing at the current moon to make sure.

"Indeed it is," Chyme replied. She never understood how clan cats left clans. They had known the clan their entire life, the idea was strange to her, leaving something you have known forever. But she was in no place to judge Lightning for his decision to leave his clan. "What clan did you belong to before you left?" she spoke curiously as she pried into his history. She sat down and nuzzled into the ground, as if getting comfortable for a long story. For all she knew, it very well could be.

The tom pawed playfully at the stalks of heather overhanging his head. "Thunderclan, I was young and foolish when I left them, but the past is the past. Nothing I can do about it now." He said and hissed suddenly at a sheep that was lumbering too close to his tail for his liking. The sheep looked down at him though beady black eyes overhung with a mat of wavy fur. Light glared at it and hissed again, one of his paws darted out and slapped the sheep's nose. It spooked and grunted and trotted away from the two cats, it's little young one bouncing along behind. Light was silent for a moment.
